balletLORENT Fundraiser

A huge thank you to everyone who came to The Stand Comedy Club, Newcastle for what turned out to be a fantastic night of comedy in support of balletLORENT's community cast project! All funds raised will be used to bring together a community cast of children and older people who will then perform in our new production of Rumpelstiltskin which will premiere at Northern Stage in October 2017.

We'd also like to thank the acts who so generously gave up their time - you were all fabulous! So huge thanks are due to George Zacharopoulos, Sammy Dobson, David Callaghan, Alfie Joey & Cal Halbert (aka The Mimic Men) and Ben Crompton

Talent development remains our priority as a company. We will continue to offer dance education of the highest standard to all ages, provide professional development opportunities for young graduates and our own dancers, and further develop our high quality participatory and performance opportunities for children and older people by engaging a community cast at every place we tour to with Rumpelstiltskin.

We fundraise to make this free of charge, which ensures people from all backgrounds can access this life changing experience. Your support is vital to make this happen!

Your Young Cast project is wonderful; Isla has turned from being a timid, scared little girl to someone whose confidence shines out of her. We must try to keep her dancing.

Art should not leave you out in the cold; it should open the door to a possibility of a fuller, richer life. For me this happened with a performance by balletLORENT.
