Gina McKee is an English actress from Peterlee, County Durham, who grew up in Easington and Sunderland. Renowned for her natural, understated performances, she has built a distinguished career across television, film, and theatre.

She won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress for her breakthrough role as Mary Cox in Our Friends in the North and has since become widely recognised for her performances as Irene in The Forsyte Saga, as well as in acclaimed television dramas including Line of DutyBodyguardThe Borgias, and Catherine the Great. Her film credits include Notting Hill, Paul Thomas Anderson's Phantom Thread, and Amazon's My Policeman.

On stage, Gina is an accomplished theatre actress with multiple Laurence Olivier Award nominations. Most recently, she starred in The Years, which transferred to the West End following its acclaimed run at the Almeida Theatre, earning her an Olivier Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Prior to this, she appeared in the National Theatre's critically acclaimed Dear England as Dr Pippa Grange, for which she also received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She was previously nominated for an Olivier Award for her performance in King Lear.

Gina has recently completed filming the Apple TV+ series The Wanted Man, created by George Kay, which is scheduled for release in autumn 2026.
