Mayou Trikerioti is an award-winning designer, dramaturg, and creative director working across theatre, film, and television.

Her theatre and performance work spans plays, musicals, opera, and movement-led productions in the UK, Greece, and internationally. Her movement-led and dance collaborations include We Caliban with Shobana Jeyasingh Dance, where costume operates as a core element of the physical and political dramaturgy, as well as the innovative baby dance productions Underwater and Skydiver (Sadler’s Wells and international tour).

In Greece, Mayou’s theatre work includes Blue Jasmine by Woody Allen at the Diana Theatre in Athens — for which she won the Best Set Design Award — and Lysistrata at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus for the National Theatre of Greece.

Alongside her theatre practice, Mayou has an extensive film and television career. Most recently, her work can be seen as Costume Designer on the Amazon Prime series House of David, returning for Season 2. Her film credits include Anthony Chen’s Drift, starring Cynthia Erivo; David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future, starring Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux and Kristen Stewart; the period film Fantasmi in Viaggio, starring Paolo Rossi and Giorgos Choreaface; Alexandros Avranas’ Dark Crimes, starring Jim Carrey, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Agata Kulesza; and Siamak Etemadi’s debut feature Pari, starring Melika Foroutan and Shahbaz Noshir. Her work has premiered at major international festivals including Cannes, Venice, Berlinale, and Toronto International Film Festival. She is an alumna of Berlinale Talents.

Since 2016, Mayou has brought artists together through Wapping Open Studios, which she founded and continues to direct. She was also a founding member and co-artistic director of Change of Art, a community-led arts initiative formed through shared activism among theatre practitioners and artists.

Mayou lives in London. She trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, following a BA (Hons) in Drama and Theatre Studies at the University of Kent, and has also trained in Forum Theatre with Cardboard Citizens.
