The Investors in the Environment (iiE) Awards 2023, held on November 23rd, recognise, and celebrate organisations across the UK for their commendable efforts in instigating positive and enduring changes in operational methods to combat climate change and reduce waste. We were delighted to be awarded winner of the best newcomer.
In 2023 iiE members collectively accomplished carbon savings of 8.7k tCO2e and conserved enough natural gas to heat nearly 2,000 three-bedroom homes for a year, emphasizing the dual impact of effective carbon management in reducing costs.
iiE operates as a national environmental accreditation scheme, streamlining the process for organisations to save time, cut costs, minimise environmental impact, and gain acknowledgment for their efforts in sustainability. Serving as an accessible and proven route, iiE caters to organisations at any stage of their sustainability journey, addressing diverse challenges through a flexible criteria and framework.
The tailored tools, templates, and expert guidance enabled us to achieve the accreditation of Silver in our first year of membership. The tiered system, progressing from Bronze to Green and beyond, establishes a comprehensive framework for evolving the Environmental Management System (EMS) in a systematic manner.
