balletLORENT is pleased to continue its partnership with Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD), supporting postgraduate students through the MA Professional Placement Scheme.
As part of the placement, students work closely with the company across a wide range of creative, performance and teaching projects. They collaborate with balletLORENT’s Artistic Director, Creative and Education Teams, and engage with world-class professional artists and collaborators, gaining first-hand experience of the contemporary dance sector.
A number of students who have undertaken placements with balletLORENT have since progressed into professional roles with the company, performing in productions at its home base and on national stages, as well as teaching across the Youth Academy and community engagement programmes.
The placement offers a personal, grounded and highly varied professional experience, designed to prepare artists for sustainable freelance careers. balletLORENT’s Creative and Education Teams work closely together to ensure students’ experiences are authentic and reflective of professional practice.
