Excitement is building at Creative Studio as our young people prepare to showcase their incredible work in just under two weeks. During the half term break, our Creative Studio students had the unique opportunity to collaborate with professional artists from the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, exploring new music and spoken word poetry in a creative, hands-on environment.
Working alongside experienced musicians, our young people experimented with sounds, rhythms, and poetic storytelling, developing original pieces that reflect their own voices and experiences. This creative journey has not only enhanced their musical and performance skills but also boosted their confidence and teamwork.
All of their hard work will be revealed as part of the pre-show acts for Theon Cross’s live gig on 20th March at Cobalt Studios. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to perform in front of a live audience, experience the energy of a real gig, and see their creativity come to life on stage.
We’re thrilled that Creative Studio students can share their talents in such an inspiring setting. The collaboration with NYJO has opened doors to professional-level artistry and provided an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
Tickets and further information for the gig can be found here: https://nyjo.org.uk/events/theoncrossatcobalt/
A huge thank you to NYJO for supporting our students. To Cobalt Studios for hosting , and to Newcastle Youth Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund for making Creative Studio possible.
